Timeline of Shank film trailer

Whilst watching the film trailer Shank to help plan my timeline for my groups film trailer I looked at how they used the one minute twenty-four seconds of their trailer. I chose to use this film trailer as it is under the genre of social realism and that is the genre of the film trailer my group would like to make. Overall there is a total of one hundred and forty one cuts through out the trailer. In the first five seconds there is a total of six cutes and the fist five seconds in include four titles that include institutions and other narrative information about the film. From five to twelve seconds there is seven cuts and in these cuts we get some narrative about the film and two characters are introduced this could suggest that they are the two characters that the film is primarily based around as they are introduced first. Then from twelve to twenty-two seconds there are sixteen cuts and within these cuts we see more narrative titles along with sound bridge of dialogue. A sound bridge of dialogue is where we hear a person talking and at first we assume  it is a voice over but we see that it goes to seeing someone talking in the next scene/cut this links the two cuts together. Between twenty-two to twenty-eight seconds there is twenty-three cuts, in these cuts there are narrative titles, a introduction into more characters and this time it is gangs that will take another lead role throughout the film. We also see the use of another sound bridge to link the two separate scenes. From twenty-eight seconds to forty-six seconds we see 16 cuts this suggests that there is less action between the eighteen second gap as there is less cuts then the previous gap before. At forty-six seconds we see another narrative title each telling the audience more and more about the film trailer and the storyline. In the next three second gap from forty-six seconds to forty-nine seconds we see three cuts and one includes another narrative title. Between fort-nine and fifty-two seconds we see seven cuts and two narrative film titles. Next from fifty-two seconds to one minute four seconds we witnessed fifteen cuts and at one minute four seconds we see another title but this a title of one of the stars included in the film. This is used to entice people to watch the film if they know the star from previous films, this helps attract more of an audience. The next title that includes a stars name is at one minute five seconds between the previous one at one minute four to this one there is a total of two cuts in the space of one second. Again at one minute six seconds there is yet again another title including a stars name that features in the film and agin we see two cuts, our next title is at one minute seven seconds and through the one second gap we only see one cut and again it is a title of a star that is in the film Shank. Between the last pause at one minute seven seconds the next one I stopped at one minute thirteen seconds and between this time there was sixteen cuts and at exactly one minute thirteen we see a title again but this title is the one that tells us the films name. The next pause is at one minute sixteen seconds after three seconds we see two cuts and at one minute sixteen seconds we see yet again other title of narrative about the film. We see from there to one minute seventeen seconds three cuts and another narrative title linked to the one before at one minute sixteen seconds. After two seconds taking us from one minute seventeen seconds to one minute nineteen seconds there is two cuts and at one minute nineteen seconds there is another narrative title about when the film is out to allow the audience to know when to go to see it. Finally at one minute twenty-two seconds see the billing board this stays in focus for two seconds which takes us the the end of the trailer but between one minute nineteen seconds to one minute twenty-two seconds we see four cuts this suggests that the action has faded out towards the end.
Overall there is eighteen titles and one billing block through out the one minute twenty-four seconds social realism film trailer Shank.

Plans For Our Film Magazine and Poster

This image shows our idea's in which we have suggested for both film poster and our film magazine.

Both are similar as the cover of each shall include each three main characters.

For this film poster we chose to plan it portait, This would look different to the a landscpae poster as it would be more square based but more pushed together. By planning the film poster in both ways it has given us two different choices, i like the landscape layout as it is different and not many film posters are used this way accept as bilboards. Yet the portrait layout looks more realsistic and could be much bolder and stronger looking when targeting the target audience.

Both of these two image shows two different layouts of our film poster. The second image shows a rough layout of how the poster would look being at a  landscape layout. This poster shows the titles at the top i.e. actors who are starring within the film, the three characters in the centre but used across the whole page and then the film title placed at the bottom of the poster.

Final Film Ideas

This is our final film idea. We decided to contribute together two film ideas which will make the genre of our film social realism, we decided on linking together idea one which was a story of mean girls and how they bully linked with idea 4 on gangs and killing. These linked together will work well and add tension, yet we will add another twist which shall be making the rest of the school/ year group hate the three popular girls. We have also  written down the information of our film narrative and the use of locations, characters, costume, camera angles and extra techniques we shall involve.

initial film ideas

We came up with four basic film ideas. We decided on idea number one, even though it is very similar to the real mean girls movie we have decided to change the genre and storyline.
