Editing and Music

On editing decisions we decided that we wanted the use of fast paced cuts in order to create the dramatic feel when in the more sinister scenes this created tension and kept the audience locked into the film. Alongside this we used non diegetic sounds created on garage band this is copyright free and there was no need of certain consent needed. On the slower paced cuts the use of diegetic sounds and dialogues where used and although the non diegetic was still in the background it was a lot fainter and also different to when used in the fast paced cuts. On the music front we decided the use of diegetic sounds and dialogues would make the audience feel more involved, whereas the change in non diegetic music would add tension leaving the audience on the edge of their seats, wanting to see more.
When editing the film poster we decided that we wanted it set in the main location and containing both sets of main characters yet making the way in which they look show the representation of the characters which was non convention and not stereotypical. We then used new media technology such as photoshop to edit the original image that we had taken to show the genre of our film that was promoted through this film poster. As for the editing on the magazine front cover we decided to firstly take the image of the antagonist of the film and that we would edit her on photoshop to give the models face a flawless effect to her skin, that made the magazine conventional yet we decided that the model would be kept on a white background and this was unconventional. We then decided that we would keep the masthead conventional along with the central image and other layout techniques on magazine front covers.
