Evaluation question one

Our film product does not conform to conventional forms of the genre thriller due to the fact our two main characters are females and one in which is antagonist which is typically a male. We also do not have the use of various different locations yet instead we keep and inclosed set and from the beginning we do not give a clear indication of who the protagonist and antagonist is. The title and release date are seen to be conventional due to the fact that the use the bold font with red writing also they grab the attention of the viewer which would act in a conventional way. The setting and locations used in some parts are not seen as conventional, the ones from the house would fit as conventional yet the ones set at the school would not be conventional to the thriller genre yet were used to reach our target audience as they could relate to the scene and the environment. For costumes we decided agin another non conventional route due to the fact that we didn't show the good from the evil instead it was a more psychological thriller where it was left to the audience to comply and work out who was who. As for props we did not use props in the sense that we see a murder weapon instead we use non conventional props such ad a diary to show how the antagonist feels and how it the escalates. When looking into camerawork we decided a variety of close ups would allow us to slow the emotions in the characters faces indicating the feelings that are felt. Alongside the close ups we decided that a variety of long shots would show an outsiders view and would indicate how it felt to be in and around the situation that was unfolding. Once we had accomplished the camerawork we decided that for editing that we would use fast paced cuts in moments of action and genre to keep the audience locked and the variation of slower paced cuts that slowed the extract down and went back to the story behind the action. The elements we used to tease the audience was the blood being washed of the hands as we do not show who is washing blood of their hands leaving the audience wondering what has happened this left them intrigued and wanting to see the film. The elements throughout the film trailer that relates to real media texts is the use of the scene in which it is set the school and the relationships that are faced by pupils and along with the fact we are making the audience scared and feel fear in which they would crave when seeing a thriller film. We kept the film magazine as conventional as possible with the use of the mast head the colour used and the way in which it is set up. This would be would be an example perfect for active audiences that would regularly buy film magazines like empire and total film. We kept our film magazine as conventional to total film as possible.
